17th HOLE

A par 4 calling for an accurate drive down a narrow gap, between a large mound in the fairway on the right and a bunker on the left. From the current medal tee, longer hitters can go straight over the mound as there is plenty of fairway over there. However, a new “tiger tee” will make this one of the most difficult drives on the course, with very few being able to drive over the fairway mound. The fairway slopes off the mound to the left and tends to throw all but the best drives that way, sometimes into a newly reshaped fairway bunker set at the left end of the driving gap. The hole then turns a little left into a large fast green that slopes gently from right to left with a steep run-off on its left side. A long bunker guards the front right approach to the green and the apron tends to throw approach shots away to the left.
