Designed by Harry Colt, sometimes described as “the greatest golf course architect of all time” whose many courses all around the world remain amongst the most highly regarded, St George’s Hill Golf Club remains true to Colt’s ideals that golfers should have fond memories of the course, be challenged and enjoy a full test of golf. This ideal is fully realised at St George’s Hill which continues to provide golfers of all standard a thorough test in a truly awesome setting.

The course consists of two 9-hole loops – the Red and the Blue; both starting and finishing directly in front of the clubhouse. Each hole is unique and sets its own challenges. Arriving at the 9th tee and approaching the 18th green are the two most obvious of “wow” moments visually – a treat wholly enhanced by our stunning clubhouse and terrace, nestling somehow both imposingly and seamlessly into the hillside. There cannot be many finer places to enjoy a post round drink than on the club’s large terrace, especially as the sun is setting. The Club’s friendly staff welcome members and visiting players alike. The upstairs Dining Room delivers a fine service whilst also offering stunning views over the course and beyond to the West.

The club is fortunate to have a 3rd 9-hole loop – the Green – that includes some of the toughest challenges of all.

I consider it an immense privilege to be a member, and now Lady Captain, of St. George’s Hill – a course I never tire of playing, and which is considered to be one of Colt’s finest. I have been fortunate enough to play at a number of wonderful courses in the UK, and abroad, and I am never disappointed to return here.

The views from the club and terrace are fantastic and we are fortunate that it points in the right direction to enjoy some spectacular sunsets over one of the best panoramic views from any clubhouse. Equally, the view of the clubhouse as you walk onto the 9th tee can make you catch your breath.

The staff and members make this club a wonderful community to be a part of, and you can expect a warm welcome on your visit here. We are very proud of our club and course, and delighted to ’show it off’ to visiting golfers. On warm days, there is nothing better than enjoying refreshments on the terrace, enjoying the views after your game.
